Shoutouts
Graduation of the Salt Lake Center for Science and Education (SLCSE)
Huge congratulations to our Scholars from SLCSE who just finished their CNA training program in partnership with Davis Technical College (DTC). One of our Scholars from SLCSE, Genesis, is in the process of landing a healthcare position now! Thank you to the SLCSE and DTC team for supporting our Proxima Scholars.
Fully Funded CNA Training Cohorts
We’re thrilled to announce the launch of our fully funded Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training cohorts! These cohorts are designed to remove barriers to healthcare education and provide a pathway to meaningful careers. We have community cohorts at Herriman High School and South Salt Lake Co-Op with others being announced for February and March coming soon (check out the website and social media for the latest updates). Thank you to the Promise South Salt Lake and Millcreek Teams, United Way 211, Herriman High School, Columbus Adult Education and Utah CNA Training Center for helping to make this possible.
Community Partnerships
We’re grateful for our partnerships with community organizations, schools, state and local agencies, employers, and leaders. Each one of the colored circles represents YOU (over 100!) and together, I know we can make a difference. Thank you for your continued support, innovative thinking, flexibility, knowledge, and all of the things you do for the community.
Health System Partners
Proxima is deeply grateful for the incredible support of our health employer partners, including University of Utah Health and Larry H. Miller Senior Health, whose collaboration is helping to shape meaningful career pathways for Proxima Scholars. These partnerships are essential in providing hands-on training, mentorship, and employment opportunities that bridge the gap between education and a successful career in healthcare. We are also excited about our early-stage discussions with many other healthcare employers and look forward to expanding our network in the near future. These partnerships will be instrumental in building the Proxima model, ensuring that more aspiring healthcare professionals have the support and opportunities they need to succeed.

Success Stories
Proxima, Granite Peaks, Horizonte, and Utah CNA Training Centers partnered to launch Granite Peaks first CNA training cohort and a second one at Horizonte. Our Scholars are getting ready for orientation and intro to the class on their first day. Good luck to the Scholars as they start their journey into healthcare!
This month, we have had 68 Proxima Scholars begin their Medical Assistant (MA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), and CNA training programs across the valley at various locations and education institutions.
Exciting developments are underway! We are partnering with higher education partners across the state to develop advancement pathways (example: CNA → Nursing) for our Proxima Scholars who are looking to take the next step.
